Haven’t you lost weight?

Haven’t you lost weight?

A few years ago I worked with a woman I will call Jane Doe. We would see each other every few months. Her standard greeting was, “Hi Terry, how have you been? Have you lost weight?” I hadn’t, but I always enjoyed the compliment. I did, however, notice that she greeted most of our other coworkers the same way. I came to refer to her as Jane Haven’t You Lost Weight Doe.

If a few years ago, someone told me I would be happy to see my weight go below 200 lbs, I would have thought they were nuts. But, here I am down to 198 and feeling pretty good not to see 2__ on the scale. The last couple of years I have weighed in at about 205 – 210. When I mentioned losing some weight, people seemed surprised at how heavy I am (I have very good actors for friends). I am down from 210 in January and would like to get close to my High School weight of about 150. I have begun bicycling more intensely, joined a Gym (today) and cut out most bread and food with refined sugar. I have done all of this recently. Maybe writing it about it will keep me on the track.
